Kathy J. Kutz - Assistant to Rector for Music Ministries
Kathy was born and raised in Milford Delaware, where she began piano lessons at age 8. In 1984 she moved to Massachusetts with husband, Doug, and daughter, Aislinn. And for many years she served as organist and choir director at Pilgrim Church in Southborough and taught piano to both children and adults.
While at Pilgrim church, she began studying organ with Dr. Barclay Wood, and later became his assistant organist and Choirmaster at First Baptist Church in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was responsible for adult and children’s bell choirs, children’s choir, and accompanying the chancel choir. While working with Dr. Wood, her choral and organ repertoire began to expand.
In 2005 they moved back to the Delmarva Peninsula to be closer to aging parents. Starting White Barn Cabinetmakers keeps them both quite busy, but Kathy did find time to serve as organist at Grace Church in Parksley from 2010 to 2016.
They have a granddaughter, Heidi, whom they adore. Besides making worshipful music, Kathy loves spending time with family, going to the beach, hanging around with dogs, reading, and tending her vegetable garden.
